Bio

Jessica Wimsatt grew up in a small town near Louisville, Kentucky. Her family remembers that even from a young age, Jessica always had a rich curiosity and a knack for discovering stories. The only thing she loved

more than storytelling was sports,

especially college basketball. As she got older, Jessica discovered a liaison between her two passions--sports and storytelling--and her dream

to become a sports reporter began.

After earning her Master's Degree in Sports Journalism earlier this year, Jessica now hopes to use her education, experience, sports knowledge, and incessant work ethic to pursue a long and successful

career in sports reporting.

Throughout her experiences, Jessica has covered multiple NCAA Tournaments and Big Ten Tournaments, U.S. Olympic Diving Trials, the College Football Playoff Semifinal, Men's NCAA Final Four and National Championship, Indianapolis 500, Indiana Hoosiers, Kentucky Wildcats, Louisville Cardinals, Butler Bulldogs, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Indiana Pacers, Indiana Fever, Miami Heat, Louisville Bats,

Indianapolis Indians, Miami Marlins, New York Yankees, horseracing,

local high school sports and much more.

She currently works as a multimedia reporter for the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever and continues to do freelance work for

the Sports Capital Journalism Program.
